 Engage is the phase where joining is put into motion through the active pursuit of a shared goal. For individuals, engagement means moving from inner readiness to outward participation—preparing to share ideas, effort, skills, voice, and care with others. It is the shift from being ready to showing up. For communities, engagement means using that sharing—listening, deliberating, coordinating, and acting together toward a common purpose. Engagement is where relationships become functional, trust is tested and strengthened, and democratic tools like voice, vote, and shared assets begin to do real work.
